The Lewis Project is a non profit making organisation that has been set up to inspire and support young people of ages 18+ giving them an opportunity to appreciate music and develop their musical talents. The group meet every week and we get involved in plenty of local activities and events playing all forms of music.

Like so many charities that the Chamber supports they need to raise funds to keep the project going and to achieve its aims. They also like to give back to the community and those that support them, and this brings us to our fundraising initiative.

I am sure you are familiar with the album Abbey Road by The Beatles. In fact it was released 50 years this year. In fact this month, on 26 September! It is remembered as much for the iconic album cover as the classic Beatles’ songs.

To this day, every day some 500 plus people rock up to have their photo walking across the famous zebra crossing in London and we thought it would be a great idea to replicate this in Sevenoaks.

On Sunday 13 October London Road with become Abbey Road for one day!

We encourage every local business or community group to join them and have your team snapped by professional photographer
Russell Harper walking across (Beatle ‘style’) the zebra crossing situated by the Marks and Spencer car park, London Road TN131AU.

The local council has agreed to close the road from 10am to 2pm and M&S are closing their car park as well. Everyone involved are so pleased.

The stage is set. They now need the audience and that is you!

Why not get together and ‘cross the road’ promoting your business or community. Be as inventive as you wish, as creative as you can imagine, and make it as fun as you wish….

They have twenty photo shots available and are asking for a donation of £250 for each one. The Lewis Project Team are delighted with the  support and encouragement  so far.

In return you will receive the digital images of your photos and hopefully be able to use them to promote your business. We will also create an image of you in the style of the album cover and, of course, you will be promoting the Lewis Project.

A fun Sunday for everyone to enjoy and one to make the most of and we hope you will support them.
