Established in 1948 with benevolent principles at our core, our site is home to 180 flats and a fifty-bed care home, enabling us to offer residences and care for a well-lived retirement, with care when you need it and your independence when you don’t.
As a not-for-profit, Rockdale is governed by a Board of Trustees – a small but dynamic group of volunteers, each with an impressive professional background bringing knowledge and expertise that we can draw from.
We are currently looking for a new Trustee with a specialism in Finance to join our team. This is a wonderful opportunity to help enrich the lives of elderly people in our local area.
We are looking for a qualified accountant with broad business experience, to be able to advise our Board and Senior Management Team of the financial implications of Rockdale’s strategic plans. To also provide guidance and advice around the management of Rockdale’s assets, including treasury management and regular scrutiny. The successful candidate will also be able to assess the effectiveness of external audits and oversee compliance with the relevant financial regulations and standards.
The candidate will need to contribute expertise and insight to determine strategy, direction and control in the interests of our residents and the wider community. They will also be required to attend quarterly Board meetings in person, join any appointed sub-committees and attend some Rockdale events.
