The National Trust are pleased to share information about their upcoming Relaxed Session at Knole on 26 May between 9:15 and 10:15, as well as our Audio-described tours.
Relaxed sessions in the showrooms at Knole are designed for anyone who would benefit from experiencing Knole during quieter times, especially those with additional learning needs, dementia, autism, or visual impairment. During these sessions, visitor numbers are limited, and adjustments are made to lights and sounds. Sensory bags tailored to Knole, including communication cards are available to enhance the experience. The Brewhouse café is open for refreshments, and the gift shop will also open earlier. Additionally, a designated quiet area is available for visitors who need a break.
Audio-described tours are now available to book during the Relaxed Sessions at Knole. These tours are ideal for visitors with visual impairment, additional learning needs, or dementia. Trained guides will provide informative descriptions of rooms and spaces, including the Great Hall, Ballroom, Cartoon Gallery, and Stone Court. Each tour lasts 45 minutes, starting at 10:00 and is limited to six people. To reserve a spot, please contact Knole at 01732 462100 or email [email protected].
Starting from 1 June 2024, audio-described tours can also be booked on a one-to-one basis. If you’d like to arrange a private tour, please reach out to Knole using the same contact details.
