Steve Harris is a middle manager in the fire service currently managing a number of teams in learning and development, firefighter core skills and leadership programmes. Responsible for a £4 million pound budget of salaries, income generation, training and development that enable his teams to ensure firefighters are safe and effective at incidents.
Steve has been in the fire service for 28 years and has multiple experiences of fire incidents, road traffic collisions and incident command and management of people. Steve has developed his skills in trauma debriefing and defusing over these years and has delivered resilience taster days and talks to various groups. Developing his own view on resilience and leadership Steve has also worked with London Fire Brigade post Grenfell to assist with firefighters and their reactions to the fire.
Steve believes these skills and his experience can help with work and life-based resilience in any setting.
