Sevenoaks District Chamber of Commerce backs Kent to be a skills trailblazer
Sevenoaks District Chamber of Commerce has joined a countywide initiative to help our Kent members influence the local skills agenda to improve their productivity and generate economic growth.
To help shape the curriculum delivered by Kent’s Further Education (FE) colleges, we are partnering with the county’s three FE providers and Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce in the Local Skills Improvement Programme (LSIP). This project will help firms across Kent and Medway to identify skills issues and unlock training needs to fill existing gaps.
The programme has been established following a successful joint bid to the Government, by Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce with EKC Group, MidKent College and North Kent College, making it one of eight national trailblazers.
Sevenoaks District Chamber of Commerce has committed to help establish this skills improvement programme, and we and other business representatives will be working with the partnership to identify immediate skills needs and solutions.
This will take the form of a light touch telephone survey (10 minutes) followed by sector-based focus groups that will explore key sector issues in more detail. Alongside this there will be an opportunity to engage with Skills Advisers from the Colleges who will exploring some of the issues around current provision and collecting feedback on what approaches work best.
To participate in one or all of these activities please register HERE
As a member of the Sevenoaks District Chamber of Commerce we hope you will join us and help shape the LSIP by identifying the county’s skills priorities to help businesses grow here in Kent.
