Another great turnout of Chamber members and guests for our March 1st Wednesday networking at Knole Academy. Over 80 members and guests attended and it made for vibrant and engaging networking.

Thanks to the team at Knole for providing the refreshments and the excellent bacon rolls and for showing us the fantastic Oaks Theatre and Mange Tout Restaurant.

Sarah Barnes Senior Deputy Headteacher, welcomed attendees with an introduction about Knole Academy referencing the International Baccalaureate programme.

Ken Arnott Head Chef/Catering & Hospitality talked about the catering and hospitality offers. The Mange Tout Restaurant offers a 3 course set lunch for only £10.95 and on Thursdays (term time only) between 12.30 – 2.30 To book call 01732 454608 ext 110 or email restaurant@knoleacademy.org The restaurant was recently used by Sevenoaks District Council for a charitable business lunch and it’s the perfect venue to host either a business lunch or an informal catch up. The restaurant also offers community cooking courses which can be tailor made to suit your business requirements, ideal for a Company team building event. The cost per head is £20 which includes ingredients and refreshments. The Oaks Theatre is also available to hire for any type of event including award ceremonies, conference, meetings, private banquet, product launches, team building, training or a production.

Carlos Nasiry Sports & Leisure Manager talked about the availability for external lettings of the Sports hall, 3G pitch MUGA, Climbing Wall, Dance Studios and also the current gym membership offers  & personal training sessions. Julia Grant Learning Resources Manager/Careers talked about Apprentice Pathways for Year 11 (age 15 -16) and Year 13 (age 17 – 18) students and also work experience opportunities for Y10 & Post 16 students in July. If any company is considering taking on an apprentice or has the capacity to take a student for work experience please contact Julia on 01732 454608 ext 201/258 or email JGrant@KnoleAcademy.org

Finally if any member of guest is interested in sponsoring Knole Academy sports teams, Duke of Edinburgh programme or dance shows (£250 for an endorsed kit or costumes programme mention where applicable) or the Kent International Baccalaureate Careers Programme Network which supports 30 schools across Kent to deliver the IB. Students and staff benefit from a file sharing website which requires an annual £500 maintenance charge for each student.

Gareth Walters, one of our Chamber Board Directors hosted the event and provided information about the following Chamber events:

  • New Office at 40A Dartford Road, Sevenoaks
  • Chamber Golf Day – May 28th at Knole Park Golf Club
  • Work Experience Week w/c 29th June 
  • Next 1st Wednesday is at Sevenoaks Rugby Club please bring Easter Eggs for our Business Partners Welham Jones collection for local children in our community who are either in hospital or hospice care

Congratulations to Louise Taylor from Rockpool Investments who won lunch for 4 in the Mange Tout restaurant in the business card draw. Ken and Louise have now decided that this will be a team building cookery evening for staff at Rockpool – great initiative – enjoy the challenge!
