Kent County Council is working with the Government and partners to understand the economic impact of “Operation Brock” on Kent and Medway.
What benefit does completing the survey have for you?
Your business may have been disrupted by the traffic congestion experienced at Easter 22, when P&O ferries ceased sailing and the M20 was closed coastbound from Junction 8 to J11. All vehicles (apart from EU-bound HGVs) were diverted to the A20 or M2. This is ‘Operation Brock’ deployed to its fullest extent.
The Council and partners wish to work with the Government to explore alternative traffic management measures, which may alleviate the need for ‘Operation Brock’ when there is cross-channel disruption, or at least reduce the frequency of its deployment. A key factor to securing potential investment for alternative traffic management measures is knowing the scale of the current economic impact, and how your business is affected.
