Here is a scam text message involving O2. If you are an O2 user and receive this message, please contact O2 via a trusted telephone number / email/ website to check.
email from Gov.uk – If you look at the sending email address, this is an obvious indicator that this is a scam. Additionally the fact that they are asking you to click on a link within the email. Also the message starts with Hi, which no official document would ever start with and the grammar is not good.
Can I remind you of ABC message as follows:
A- Never assume a caller, email or text is genuine.
B- Never believe a caller, email or text is genuine.
C- Always confirm by contacting a trusted number, family member, friend, your bank’s fraud department or the police to check if it’s genuine.
