Tuesday 23rd April 10.30-11.30 at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre, Buckhurst Lane, Sevenoaks TN13 1LW.

Information relating to the Focus Group below.

You may well have already seen the Press Release that was issued on Tuesday 9th April. Sevenoaks District Council is informing the public of initial ideas for the redevelopment of land east of the High Street, Sevenoaks, which is adjacent to the Knole Estate where the Environmental Park is located. We are at the very early stages of this project and our intention is to solicit public and key stakeholder opinion on our initial ideas for this area.

The land is in Sevenoaks District Council’s and KCC’s ownership and broadly covers the area including the existing leisure centre, library, surface car parks, the bus stand, and the former M&Co site. Our initial ideas include a new state of the art and environmentally efficient leisure centre, a new learning hub (which combines the library, gallery, museum and adult education centre), a market hall, a mid-tier upmarket hotel, new homes and a new public realm linking the High Street and Knole Park.

This is an exciting project and once in a generation opportunity for Sevenoaks and helps to meet many economic, public service, environmental and economic objectives. Myself and Detlev Munster (Strategic Head of Property and Commercial) would very much like to meet with business members of the Sevenoaks Chamber of Commerce to provide a pre-briefing presentation and discussion ahead of these events so that we can share these early design concepts with you and get your views on the proposals. It is important to us that we hear your views as part of our wider engagement to make sure that this can be considered as our plans progress.

We would like to meet with you on 23rd April 2024 at Sevenoaks Leisure Centre, Buckhurst Lane, Sevenoaks TN13 1LW at 10.30-11.30am.

This will allow us the opportunity to go over our ideas before the public exhibition events, which you are of course also welcome to attend as well.

The public exhibition events will be held in Sevenoaks Leisure Centre on Wednesday 24th April (1.30pm to 8.30pm) and Saturday 27th April (10.00am to 3.00pm). There will also be a further online engagement meeting on 29th April (7.00pm to 8.15pm), and further information will be published on our website from the 24th April at www.sevenoaks.gov.uk/haveyoursay.
