The Bagpuss Fun Run is taking place at the Tonbridge School Centre on Sunday 13th October. Registration is at 1.30pm. There are two distances – a 5k and a 2.5k.  The charity’s mascot Bagpuss will be leading the 2.5k distance.

Places booked in advance cost £12.50 for adults (£15 on the day) and there are concessions for children and families.

Participants can buy or borrow our Bagpuss t-shirts, there will be Bagpuss face painting and the Bloco Fogo samba band will be playing before the event starts. After the run flapjacks made in our Otford Tearooms will be given to every runner and the fastest participants will receive token prizes.

Places can be booked through Hospices of Hope’s website, by email or by phoning 01959 525110.

All proceeds raised will go towards paediatric hospice care in Romania and will help children such as Cornelia below.

Cornelia is 7 and has giant hydrocephalus. She has undergone neurosurgery many times and the hospice helps her mother care for her before and after those operations. Cornelia has paraparesis and some brain damage. She loves the activities in the hospice’s day centre and receives physiotherapy there.

She comes from a large and very poor family. Seven people live in a two roomed shack which does not have a door. They share the same bed.

Staff at the hospice say Cornelia is “very affectionate, likes to be held by her hand and enjoys playing with small toys”
