Thank you to Beams for hosting our Showcase Swanley networking yesterday at their offices in Hextable. We were treated to a delicious afternoon tea provided by local company Hummingbirds as we heard from Katrina Adams, Head of Fundraising who shared her heartfelt story with us regarding her experience as a mother with a child with disability.
After the meeting we were given a tour of the facilities, and it was a real honour to see behind the scenes and really understand the fantastic work they do in the community and across the wider district. Beams are one of our charities of the year, and it was great to raise another £25 in our business card draw to add towards our charitable fund. Congratulations to Wanda Ross from Happen Web for winning a bottle of prosecco.
Beams is a local charity that supports disabled children and their families. They are offering a number of fundraising events where you and your teams can get involved. See the events page HERE. Beams also holds Family Advice Drop-in sessions for parents/carers of disabled children and these sessions are now being offered for the first time every Wednesday between 10am – 2pm at Spring House, Children’s Centre in Hospital Road, Sevenoaks. If you know of anyone who could benefit from this service please spread the word.
Parents can get free advice on matters relating to health, education, social care, financial matters, transport and emotional support. Although there is no need to make an appointment, as parents can just drop-in, appointments can be booked in advance by contacting the We Are Beams Family Advice Team on 01322 668 501 (ext 1) or email: advice@wearebeams.org.uk
